This free ebook is a by-product of a Japanese-language book project sponsored by Fujiwara Shoten publishers of Japan. The Japanese-language book, Yanagita Kunio Studies Around the World (世界の中の柳田国男), was published in October 2012 and contains twice as many articles as this English version.
The goal in making this English-language ebook available free of charge is to stimulate renewed international interest in Yanagita Kunio (1875-1962) and the field of Japanese folklore studies.
