A Guide to Buying and Installing Manga University ebooks

1. Choose the correct ebook format for your device:

For a Windows or Macintosh computer, select “ePub”

Read ebooks on your Windows or Macintosh computer using the free Adobe Digital Editions software. If you don’t already have the software, you can download it for free from
http://www.adobe.com/products/digital-editions/download.html.

For a Macintosh running OSX El Capitan, Yosemite or Mavericks, select “ePub”

Apple’s latest Macintosh operating system, OSX 10.11 El Capitan (as well as OSX 10.10 Yosemite and 10.9 Mavericks), features the built-in iBooks application for reading content-rich, interactive ebooks.

For an iPad, iPhone or iPod touch, select “ePub”

Our ebooks look fantastic on Apple’s iOS devices! In fact, we develop our ebooks for this platform first and foremost.

For any Amazon Kindle model, select “Kindle Book”

Amazon’s Kindle comes in many shapes and sizes. There’s the original Kindle, the Kindle Paperwhite, Kindle Fire and Kindle Fire HD. And that’s just some of them. Our Kindle ebook files are formatted to work on all of them.

For all other devices, select “ePub”

The ePub format is designed to work on just about any ebook reader or tablet you can think of — Barnes & Noble Nook, Nexus, Kobo, Sony, Aluratek Libre, other Android-based devices and many more. If you own one of those devices, this is the format for you.

2. Install the ebook onto your device:

For a Windows or Macintosh computer:

Download the ebook file to your computer. The file will be the title of the book with the extension “.epub” (example: “manga_cookbook.epub”).

If you haven’t already, download the free Adobe Digital Editions ebook-reader software from http://www.adobe.com/products/digital-editions/download.html.

Double-click the ebook file to open it in Adobe Digital Editions and begin reading.

For a Macintosh running OSX El Capitan, Yosemite or Mavericks:

Download the ebook file to your computer. The file will be the title of the book plus the word "ibook"  with the extension “.epub” (example: “manga_cookbook_ibook.epub”).

Double-click the ebook file to open it in iBooks and begin reading.

For an iPad, iPhone or iPod touch:

Make sure the free iBooks app is on your iOS device. (If it isn’t, you can download it from the App Store.)

Use Safari on your iOS device to download the ebook file, and select the “Open in iBooks” button. The ebook will open and be added to your iBooks collection inside the iBooks app.

For Amazon Kindle models:

Download the Kindle ebook file to your computer. The file will be the title of the book with the extension “.mobi” (example: “manga_cookbook.mobi”).

Attach your Kindle to your computer using your USB cable and drag the file to the "Documents" folder on your Kindle. Open the ebook from your Kindle's home screen and begin reading.

For all other devices:

Procedures for loading third-party ebooks onto other e-readers and tablets vary by manufacturer. Refer to your product’s website or user manual for complete instructions.

Also, the “MobileReader Devices How-To” section at Project Gutenberg (an excellent source of free, out-of-copyright ebooks) is a good starting point for determining how to load third-party ebooks to many devices.
