Manga University has announced a coast-to-coast tour of the United States this spring that will include stops at six of the nation’s biggest pop culture and book conventions.
The three-month tour will kick off in Seattle (Sakura-Con, April 2-3), then head to Chicago (C2E2, April 16-18), Los Angeles (LA Times Festival of Books, April 24-25), New York (Book Expo America, May 25-27), the San Francisco Bay Area (FanimeCon, May 28-31), and Los Angeles again (Anime Expo, July 1-4).
In between convention stops, Manga University employees will conduct workshops at several schools and libraries across the country.
“We’re looking forward to getting together with manga and anime fans throughout the United States,” said Manga University founder Glenn Kardy. “Most Japanese manga companies fly in, attend one or maybe two events, then immediately head back home. Not us — we’re going to hang out for a while so people can really get to know us.”
